NORTHRIDGE, CA – The most anticipated game for Pat Riley and the Miami Heat transpired last night, March 25, 2025. Jimmy Butler officially returned to the Kaseya Center sporting opponents' gear since his initial trade to Miami in 2019.

The Miami Heat notched their thirty-first win against the Golden State Warriors in a 116-86 victory.
The big news coming into the game was Jimmy Butler. Now? Not so much.
The problems seem to begin when Butler was seen on social media explaining that the Heat wouldn't have lost if he hadn't been injured against the Celtics in the 2024 playoffs. During the Heat's 2024 exit interviews, Pat Riley took to the press conference to say that Butler "should keep his mouth shut if he isn't playing."
Although that wasn't enough for the star to ask for a trade, the future seemed unclear.
The Heat were hesitant to give Jimmy Butler the extension due to his age and limited playing time during the regular season.
Butler later requested a trade, which felt like an everlasting saga! The trade finally transpired and landed the forward in Golden State.
All signs pointed to Jimmy Butler going off on his former team. There was no Stephen Curry, so scoring would've come from Butler, and comments from the star before the game stirred social media.
TNT sideline reporter Taylor Rooks asked Jimmy Butler what he would expect if he saw Riley. Butler answered, " I have nothing to say to Pat, and Pat better have nothing to say to me."
Butler ended the game with 11 points, 2 assists, and 6 rebounds. Although the Warriors' star didn't have a revenge game, the Heat certainly got theirs!
The Warriors continue to try to maintain the 6th seed in the Western Conference, while the Heat are looking to make the play-in tournament.
